about

Adventures in the art of being alone

Deborah is a beautiful melancholic song about being left to the loneliness of aimless routines in the endless idle of Sundays. The song is introduced with a violent sound inferno that slides into a subdued sound universe with an underlying disturbing mood that leads to a large-scale transcendent high to heaven.

lyrics

Going to the market, same old Sunday routine
Looking through old records, maybe catch a movie
Stopping in the hallway waiting there for someone
Listening for footsteps better left forgotten

Used to be I never cared what I was doing
Never used to hear the hands that kept on moving
Treasuring the mornings, still my loyal soldiers
Always there to greet me as I’m getting older

Deborah
I never thought a stone could feel
As soft as you appear
Anywhere and everywhere I go I know
That we will always end up here

Going to the market, maybe catch a movie
You know how I always had my little routines
Somehow words were said that should never have been spoken
What cannot be healed is better left unbroken

Deborah
I never thought a stone could feel
As soft as you appear
Anywhere and everywhere I go I know
That we will always end up here
Deborah
And everywhere we go I know
That we will always end up here
